Webmaster comment: I really don't like this "Dragon Seed" topic but because Feng-Jiao had some words to say about this story I think her opinion should be published here. This affair was in early 1999 so it's past! I shouldn't be discussed again... 2/3/2000, Joan was interviewed by Taiwan Mingsheng Pao. She discussed Jacky's extramartial affair, and the birth of the baby girl as a direct result of it. In her words, she said, "Of course I was upset, but I've forgiven Jackie, however, that doesn't mean I could ignore the fact and think as if nothing happened. I have self-esteem, and this is been nothing but humiliating." Some people thought Joan has given Jackie too much freedom, in some ways she indulged him. In reply, she said,"There should be respect and trust between husband and wife. I respect and trusted Jacky. We are adults, and we should treat ourselves like adults." 2/2/2000, Joan was greeted by a large number of presses in
her brother's wedding. Jacky was absent but sent presents to the bride/groom. He was busy
filming. Joan said she did not want to be interviewed, but she was polite and answered all
the questions presented to her. Here are some of the comments she made,"I am happy. I
respect my marriage. Everyone has their own definition of happiness, I am happy now."
Does she feel any pressure and unsure of her marriage? She replied," Everything is
fine. The happiest of my time is the time I spent with my son." And at end, she
wished everyone a happy Chinese New Year.
