Jewel's critique:
"The Boy's Life" is Jackie's second album and was released (like the
debut album) for the Japanese market. Jackie sings all the songs in
Japanese (a language that he didn't speak really *lol*) but a Japanese
fan told me that he pronunced it really great! :-) It seems that
Jackie now - 20 years later - speaks/understands Japanese better.. maybe
he learned it during his Japanese-album-phase?! ^_^
The second album shows Jackie's improvement singing pop songs. "Tokyo
Saturday Night" was also used in the Japanese outtakes of his and Samo
Hung's movie "Heart of Dragon" in the same year. I think the highlight
of this album is "China Blue" but also songs like "Rosy coloured pupils"
and "Try to love me" are great. All in all it's a wonderful album to
listen to! (And the booklet of this LP is full of very nice and cute
pics ^_^)
