Jewel's critique:

Jackie's first solo-single was "Kung Fu Fighting Man" in 1980, 4 years before this album came out! Weird that the Japanese needed so much time for it *lol* I think the situation at that time was that Jackie was "so big" in Japan that they tried to find another market for him where he also could have success like with his movies. The album "Love Me" sounds like it. It's a low production. And you can't hear that Jackie had Peking Oper singing lessons when he was a child. Maybe at that time he wasn't confident enough to sing pop songs? Who knows...  Of course this CD is a must for every Jackie Chan collection but don't expect a masterpiece. My fave on this album is absolutely "Movie Star". The song "Marianne" isn't sung that well by Jackie here...  but he sang it perfectly in another language (Cantonese instead of Japanese) only a short time later on the "Do Je (Thank You)" EP that was released after the "Love Me" album had become a success in Japan.

I give this album 3 of 10.
