Seems that Jackie's Japanese albums were so
popular in Japan that he wanted to try it in Hongkong too. On the album,
simply called "Sing Lung" (his Cantonese artist name), Jackie mostly
sings his Japanese songs (from his first albums from 1984 - 86) with new
written Cantonese lyrics! Here's an detailed list:

You see, if
you have the older albums you nearly have all those songs already... but...
here you can hear them in Cantonese instead of Japanese. Still I have to
confess this Cantonese production doesn't sound that great. You can hear
Jackie's singing talent so wonderfully in the Japanese versions but it
seems that they recorded the Cantonese tracks in a hurry or something
like that. They sound cheap at times. Sad, many of those songs are so
great... only "I stop the heart pain" can make me really satisfied.
For the rest of the old-new songs - better stick to the Japanese
versions. :-/
Only 5 out of 10 for his first Cantonese album. |
