Jackie Chan's
German dubbing voices

In Germany it's normal that 99 % of all foreign movies are dubbed into German.
Who are those persons you only know by their voices?!
In Germany dubbing is taken very serious and real movie stars also have the same voice over and over
again because the movie goers associate the voices with the actors they see.
Those dubbers are German actors/actresses you often also can see on TV shows, movies or on stage...
Dubbing is just one job beside their acting career (of course there are also some persons who start to work
for dubbing more, direct, write the scripts and dedicate their life to dubbing)
Who's Jackie's recent dubber every German fan
associate with Jackie since 1996?
Here are some answers!

Stefan Gossler

Gorgeous (Under Control), Accidental Spy (Spion wider Willen), The Medallion, Twins Effect, Around the world in 80 days, New Police Story.

Uwe Büschken
(* ?)

Uwe also dubbed in the Animes
'Digimon' and 'Dragonball Z'

What terrible news in 2002: Jackie's dubber Stefan Gossler was too sick to dub Jackie in his newest movie "The Tuxedo". I have to confess I was totally shocked and when I finally heard the "new" German voice I was terribly unhappy!
Sorry Uwe Büschken, but you'll never be the German Jackie Chan! Fans didn't like you as Jackie. Your voice sounds unmature and boyish (not boyish like Jackie though).
It didn't fit to him at all... Büschken also cannot act with this voice, play  emotions like Stefan Gossler can.
I think the biggest problem for Büschken is: Stefan Gossler is such a perfect voice for Jackie that Nobody can top him! We German fans love his voice and we don't want Jackie with another voice anymore! Amen!
I'm just soooo happy that Stefan Gossler is back dubbing again.   Thanks god!!!   *bow*

He dubbed Jackie in: The Tuxedo

Joachim Tennstedt
(*10.Oct. 1950)

I still don't know many details about his guy! :(
Just that he's called the "most versatile dubbing voice" in Germany!
The pic on the left shows Tennstedt in 1980 (so it was taken during the time when he dubbed
"Young Master" and "The Big Brawl")... sadly I don't have a newer/better pic of him! :(

A little list about some famous actors Joachim Tennstedt is dubbing:
John Malkovich, Billy Crystal, Michael Keaton (sometimes), Jeff Bridges (very often),
Mel Gibson (often), Dustin Hoffman ("Rainman"), Kevin Costner ("Field of dreams"),
Patrick Swayze ("Point Break") and many many more!

To me Tennstedt is Jackie's 2nd best dubbing voice! (no. 1 is Stefan Gossler)

He dubbed Jackie in the 80s in:  Young Master (Meister aller Klassen), The Big Brawl (Die große Keilerei),
Cannonball Run (Auf dem Highway ist die Hölle los), Dragon Lord & Armour of God

Dr. Michael Nowka
(*10.March 1953)

Nowka dubbs a lot! But I really hate his way of dubbing! I mean as long as he's dubbing people
who are supposed to be stupid he can be funny... but he just makes FUN of Jackie!!

Masterpieces like "Drunken Master 2" and "Praject A" are nearly destroyed by this guy!
Sometimes I wonder what's going on in his mind to do that!!!  :(
Michael Nowka is mostly known in Germany as the dubbing voice of Rick Moranis.

He also does dubbing-directing and is dubbing script writer...

Thanks to TommyTheKid and Daniela Pusskacs for finding those 2 pics of Nowka!
pictures are taken from www.synchrondatei.de and www.kika.de

He dubbed Jackie in:
Drunken Master 2, Crime Story (Hard to Die), Police Story 2,
Project A (Der Superfighter), Project A 2 (Projekt B), Fearless Hyena 2 (Superfighter 2)

Ivar Combrinck
(*16.January 1943)

I think you can call this guy "Jackie's first real dubbing voice" because he dubbed Jackie for his
bigger movies in the 70s releases for the German cinema!

Ivar Combrinck is in the dubbing business for about 40 years now!
And since 1976 he's also a dubbing script writer and director.
Nowadays he's directing the dubbing for TV cartoon series like "The Simpsons" and "Futurama" !
His son Ivar Butz Combrinck lends his voice for movie dubbings too.

Ivar Combrinck has a really nice voice!!  I like it a lot! :)

He dubbed Jackie in:
Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (Die Schlange im Schatten des Adlers),
Drunken Master (Sie nannten ihn Knochenbrecher), Fearless Hyena (Zwei Schlitzohren in der Knochenmühle)

Hans-Georg Panczak
(*19.July 1952)

Born: 19. July 1952, in Düsseldorf (Germany)
Many of his movie- / tv- appearances are credited at the
MovieDataBase

He is very well known now for "Smithers" German voice from "The Simpsons"!
He is dubbing him since the 3rd season... :)
By the way... He's also the 70's-voice of Luke Skywalker!!!

Thanks to Kay Hecht (www.wdr.de) and the WDR-Filmredaktion for those infos!!!
Special thanks to Ron G. Benson for correcting the infos! :)

He dubbed Jackie in:
The Protector, Dragons Forever (Action Hunter), Miracles

Christian Tramitz
(*29. July 1955)

Christian is very well known from the German TV-show "Bullyparade" on channel Pro7.
He also is one of the main characters of the most successful German movie in Germany and Austria called "Der Schuh des Manitu" (with and by Michael "Bully" Herbig) from 2001.

Maybe you also know Christians voice from the TV-series "Eine schrecklich nette Familie (Married with Children)" as Jefferson D'Arcy (played by Ted McGinley)...
He also dubbed Matt Dillon in "Wild Things", Gary Cole in "In the Line of Fire" and many many more!

I like his voice! It's the opposite of Michael Nowka.
The voice is very mature and slow... He seems to be a confident, cool & nice guy and
it does fit to Jackie very well... To me he's Jackie's "best dubber no. 3"     :P

He dubbed Jackie in:
Half a loaf of Kung Fu (Karate Bomber), Dragon Fist (Dragon Hero),
Spiritual Kung Fu (Meister aller Klassen 2), Police Story 3

Helmut Zierl
(* 6. Oct. 1954)

Height: 180 cm; Weight: 80 kg
Haircolour: dark brown
Colour of eyes: green-brown

Foreign languages:  French, English, Portugese
Sports: Badminton, Tennis, diving, marathon
Instruments:  guitare

Helmut is a very famous German TV actor!
I don't know many German stars but THIS guy I know very well!  :P

See his filmography on the International Movie Data Base !

He also dubbed Dennis Quaid in "The Big Easy (Der große Leichtsinn)",
Patrick Duffy in the TV-series "The man from Atlantis (Der Mann von Atlantis)" and many more!

A big thanks to Draygo for his help to identify this Jackie-dubber! :)

He dubbed Jackie in:
Wheels On Meals (Powerman) & Heart of Dragon (Powerman 3)

Leon Boden
(* 14. July 1958)

Height: 182 cm
spoken languages: German, English, French, Italian
German dialects: norddeutsch, wienerisch, bayrisch, schweizerdeutsch
Photo:

Well, Leon Boden doesn't "look" like he's a good German voice for Jackie,
but actually I like his voice a lot in "Mission Adler". And it fits to Jackie!
Sadly he never dubbed Jackie again in a movie...  I wonder why...
You can see him sometimes in TV and cinema movies...

I know that I saw him as a baddy a few years ago...
but I can't remember which movie that was *blush*  :-P

He dubbed Jackie in:
Mission Adler - Der starke Arm der Götter (Armour of God II - Operation Condor)

Arne Elsholtz
(* 1944)

He's one of the most versatile voices and currently also one of the most hired dubbers
who's mostly used for comedy roles.

In the 80s he also dubbed a lot supporting roles and he lent his voice to the computer-adventures "Scheibenwelt" where he speaks the wizard Ricewind.

Every German cinema fan knows him as the long-time German voice of Tom Hanks, Kevin Kline,

Bill Murray, Eric Idle, Jeff Godblum and some more...

Arne also works as a dubbing-director and -author.

Arne dubbed Jackie in:  Police Story

Lutz Mackensy
(*11.March 1944)

Lutz is also the German voice of "Dr. Emmett Brown" in 'Back To The Future 2+3'.

He dubbed Jackie in:  Winners and Sinners

Weijian Liu
(* 26. Nov. 1956)

Well, he plays such a little role in Jackie's "family of dubbing voices" *lol*
that I decided just to link to the website where you can get more details about him. Thanks to TommyTheKid from my message board for finding it! :-)

(also the Weijian's pic was taken from this link - in German only)

www.filmrolle.de/weijian/liu.html

He dubbed Jackie in:
Burn Hollywood Burn (Fahr zur Hölle Hollywood)

Jan Odle

I don't know anything about him till now :(
But Jan is also the dubber of Will Smith in "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" and other movies...

Thanks to Frank Graab for the picture!! :)

He dubbed Jackie in:  Shaolin Wooden Men (Wooden Man)
